Let Us Help You Choose Your First Gun
Choosing your first gun is a lot of fun, however there is a lot to know before you bring home your first firearm. Unfortunately the amount of information on the interwebs if you’re doing your own research is overwhelming and in a lot of cases, just plain outright bad. This is a big decision and one that your life could depend on one day and you should go into this with both eyes open.
This session is held in person and on location at a local gun dealer and will help you make a good decision based on your needs and circumstances. The gun shops we use in our local area have shooting ranges onsite and allow you to rent firearms you are interested in.
An instructor will meet you at the gun shop and walk you through the differences of each of the types of firearms. We will then take a closer look at the ones that interest you and then rent them to try out on the range. This way you get to “try before you buy” with some advice and consultancy with one of our expert trainers during the process. The class is 2 hours long and during that time we will cover the following:
- Identify the needs and circumstances you are basing the decision on (will you be carrying or is it primarily for home defense, what size is best, caliber options, single stack vs double stack etc)
- What you should be looking for in a gun
- What training gear you will need and a list of links for where to get them
- Where to buy ammo
- Some ideas for trying before you buy
