Our New Gun Owner Course will teach you the fundamentals of owning and safely handling a gun. This course is divided into two parts: the first being the the basic knowledge you need to have to operate the firearm, the second part takes place on the range where you will get the experience of shooting with an instructor present. The topics we cover during the virtual fundamentals part of the course are as follows:
- Self defense firearm basics
- Developing a personal and home protection plan
- Shooting fundamentals
- The legal use of force
During the virtual portion of the course we cover technique by practicing “dry”. That means we go through the basics of how to draw and shoot and get on target without using any ammunition. We do this for the bulk of the virtual session to make sure you are comfortable before we head to the range.
The range portion of the course will take place at Recoil Range in Manalapan NJ. We go through the safety and dry work we practiced in the session before shooting before moving on to live fire (you will get to shoot approximately 100 rounds).
